Does anyone who works/has worked as an RSP have an Introduction letter to Parents? I'd like to see a sample as I am preparing a letter to send out to my student's parents.

Do you mean just a welcome-back-to-school letter? I worked in an SDC (NPS) but would be happy to share mine. Obviously, the information contained within (and the idea that I had a full-time class) is different, but the spirit of communication that you may be looking for is there. Here it is: Dear Parents/Guardians of [Grade] Graders, As our first full week of school here at [school name] draws to a close, I wanted to make sure to introduce myself and welcome each family and student in my class. I have had the chance to speak to and meet many of you personally, and I hope to have met you all over the course of the next coming weeks and months. My name is [name]. I love teaching, especially finding new and creative ways to experience concepts and learn. This is my fourth school year at [school]., and my third year of teaching elementary school. I am from [hometown] originally, though I have been living in California for the past eight years. In my free time, I like to swim and to read; I am usually involved in reading at least seven or eight books at once. I am especially excited about this school year because sixth grade is my favorite grade to teach! From what I have seen, we have quite a dynamic class in terms of strengths and interests, and I feel that there is a lot we can and will learn from each other. We will face challenges in all areas, academic and social, and meet them head on with the skills and maturity we are developing. I look forward to getting to know and working with each one of you, your children and having a positive and productive school experience this year. We have a great year ahead of us! Finally, I wanted to make sure that each one of you knew the best ways to communicate with me any questions or concerns you may have. The school phone number is [number], and I am here past 5:00 most nights. Perhaps the best way to reach me is by email, as I check my account every morning and most afternoons. My email address . Of course, you may write a note to me on the point sheet, send a note with your child, or communicate through the Thursday folder as well.
