How can you ensure that students are accountable for their own work? What can you do to keep the onus on the students? To read their own notes, to think about the questions. How do you get them to see that yes, learning IS hard, but it's worth it?

Some suggestions I read include: o Fred Jones' method of "Praise, Prompt, Leave." Look at the book "Tools for Teaching". o "I respond to questions not complaints, would you like to try again?"
