How do you handle students who constantly complain of being bored?

I would try to see why they're bored. Are they doing the lessons? Are they overwhelming? Can I modify them in some way? Or is it that the lessons are too easy? In that case, I would put together some sort of assessment to determine their current placement. For one student who complained of being bored in math, for example, I put together a packet of the chapter tests from the text and let him work on those. When he got to the point where he wasn't passing the tests, I knew that was where we should stop and instruct.
